The Pollution Incident Response Management Plan (PIRMP) has been prepared by Goterra to outline how we prevent, respond to, and communicate about pollution incidents across our operations. The Plan details our procedures for engaging with workers, regulators, emergency services, and the broader community who may be affected by the impacts of a pollution incident.

The PIRMP provides a framework that complements Goterra’s site-specific emergency and incident response documentation. It ensures that all NSW facilities operating under an Environment Protection Licence (EPL) are compliant with the requirements of the Protection of the Environment Legislation Amendment Act 2011 (POELA Act).

Our PIRMP is designed to:

  • Identify potential hazards and risks that could result in a pollution incident.
  • Outline preventive controls and mitigation measures to minimise environmental harm.
  • Establish clear lines of responsibility and escalation in the event of an incident.
  • Provide a communication pathway to notify relevant authorities, stakeholders, and the public in a timely manner.

Through this plan, Goterra demonstrates its commitment to protecting people, the environment, and the communities in which we operate by ensuring that pollution risks are effectively managed, and that transparent communication occurs whenever an incident may impact our stakeholders.
